I had a bad night last night, so let's try to keep this upbeat. It snowed yesterday! Now normally I don't like the cold. In fact, most of this December has been down right horrible. But the thing about cold is I hate it more when there is no snow to show for it. It is has been chilly and windy the past few days, but yesterday afternoon it wasn't too horrible. And then around 5:00, it started snowing. And not just a little either. These snow flakes were huge and some of them were clumping together. Not only that, the snow wasn't melting immediately when it hit the ground. It was sticking. So my roommate and I walked back to our dorm after dinner and got to enjoy the snow. As my roommate said, "Despite the cold, its actually kinda pretty." I had to agree. This morning the snow wasn't as thick as I would like it, but it is there. I'm sure it will melt in the next few days, but that is okay. It is supposed to snow again tomorrow. I don't entirely believe that since last year the weather forecasters were constantly saying it was going to snow and I think we got a total of 2 inches all winter. Now living in Wisconsin (and not in the south most regions either) and being in a very small college town where the professors teach students how to milk cows and we have a pasture on campus, it is weird to be in the dead of winter and not see any snow. Sometimes, the grass is still green in places. I hope that my kids get real snow. The stuff that comes up to your waist and is sticky so snowmen stick together. But with the world the way it is, that may be dreaming. Oh well.
Until next time friends! Have a glorious day!
Maria
